North Lamar Intermediate provides a rich array of academic opportunities that nurture curiosity and achievement. Students can participate in enriching activities like the Spelling Bee, Science Fair, and the National Elementary Honor Society, fostering leadership and a love for learning. Our curriculum includes innovative programs like Eureka and STEMscopes for math, Amplify for reading, SAVVAS for science, and iReady for personalized online learning, allowing each student to progress at their own pace. Classroom Programs

North Lamar Intermediate’s Eureka Math program for 2nd grade provides students with a deep and comprehensive understanding of mathematical concepts. Through hands-on activities, real-world problem-solving, and interactive lessons, Eureka Math helps students build strong foundational skills in numbers, operations, and reasoning. Special Programs

North Lamar Intermediate’s Gifted and Talented program provides specialized opportunities for our most curious and motivated learners in grades 2-5. Through engaging projects and collaborative challenges, our GT students participate in Destination Imagination, where they can showcase their creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. With opportunities to advance to state and global competitions, this program encourages students to push boundaries, think innovatively, and explore their full potential. Our Gifted and Talented services celebrate each student’s unique abilities, inspiring them to excel and make meaningful contributions!

Our Response to Intervention (RTI) Tier 3 program at North Lamar Intermediate provides targeted support for students needing additional assistance in reading or math. Through daily 45-minute pull-out sessions in a small group setting, students receive personalized instruction tailored to their individual learning needs. This focused environment allows for intensive, skill-building activities designed to boost confidence and close learning gaps. Our Tier 3 RTI program reflects our commitment to ensuring that every student has the support they need to succeed academically!

NLISD is dedicated to providing exceptional support to every child. Our Special Education services start as early as age 3, ensuring that young learners have access to the resources they need from the very beginning. Our full-time, certified therapists work closely with each child, offering individualized support that meets them right where they are. Through personalized programs and compassionate guidance, we help our students build the skills and confidence they need to thrive. Together, we’re committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment for all.

All About NEHS

North Lamar Intermediate proudly hosts a chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS), recognizing students who exemplify excellence in scholarship, leadership, responsibility, and service. Sponsored by Amanda Little, our NEHS chapter offers students the chance to develop leadership skills, engage in meaningful service projects, and strengthen their commitment to academic achievement. Through NEHS, students learn the value of integrity, citizenship, and community, making a positive impact both in school and beyond. We are proud of our NEHS members for setting a standard of excellence and inspiring others in our school community!
