North Lamar spellers advance to Lamar County Spelling Bee

Paris, Texas, January 27, 2021 – Six students from North Lamar Independent School District will compete with other top spellers in the county for a chance to win the Lamar County Spelling Bee Championship title.

Co-champions from Frank Stone Middle School are eighth grader Nikki Dominguez and seventh grader Chris Stevenson.  Co-winners from Geneva Bailey Intermediate School are fifth graders Eli Green and Allyson Miller.   Aaron Parker Elementary winners are fourth graders Emma Briggle and CJ Farrow.

Students will compete at the Lamar County Spelling Bee on Wednesday, February 10 at 4:00 p.m.  Due to the pandemic, each participating school will hold the online spelling bee on their home campus.  Participants will spell words by typing in the words pronounced by the Scripps official pronouncer.  Additionally, they will complete a multiple choice vocabulary component.  One champion will advance and represent Lamar County at the Dallas Regional Spelling Bee which will utilize the same online format.
