I have been employed with the North Lamar school district going on my seventeenth year. Through out the years I have been honored to be paraprofessional of the year, teacher of the year and teacher of the year for elementary for our district.
This year I will be going into my second year as a dyslexia specialist. I’ve attended the Take Flight Program the past to summers.
This is my sixteenth year at North Lamar. For the first three years at Bailey I took on the role as paraprofessional. The staff took me in and help show me the ropes as I prepared to enter into the role of becoming a 4th ELAR/Social Studies teacher. For nine years I stayed in the classroom and three I embarked upon RTI reading. Going into my sixteenth year I will begin a new path of becoming a dyslexia therapist.
Many can’t say they’ve been married to their highschool sweetheart, but I get the privilege of saying I am! We’ve been together for many many years and we are still going strong. We have three amazing kids! Jay, my oldest, just graduated from college and has moved on to the big world of responisbilities. He has the biggest heart and will give you the shirt off his back. My middle child, Maddie, is a Senior at the NLHS who loves playing all sports and is such a social butterfly. She’s also my most determined, hard working child that never gives up on anything! Harper, my little pride and joy, loves, loves, loves to dance and sing! I can honestly say you will always see us with a smile on faces! We are a family that loves going to church, playing and watching sports, and seeking to help when we can!
When I’m not teaching my oldest daughter keeps me on the go with the different sports she plays. I am a sports fanatic, so you will always catch me at games watching my child or students of mine.
I also come from a very close family. People always say that when they see me they either see my mom, sister, or both not to far behind!
